HSW Product Ordering & Tips

Lace Release

https://www.hairdirect.com/store/removal/removal/walkerlacereleaseadhesiveremoverspray4ounces

This product is useful in removing tape from lace units and for small scalp cleanups. Spray directly on the hair system and the tape will loosen from the underside making it easier to remove tape and avoid hair loss. This is an alcohol based product and will not leave an oily residue like the citrus cleaner does.

Citrus Scalp Cleaner

https://www.hairdirect.com/store/basecleaning/solvents/walkerc22citrussolvent4ounces

This product is used “on scalp only” to remove adhesive once hair system has been lifted off the scalp. This is an oil based product and requires a soap and water washing of the scalp after all adhesive is removed. Dry scalp thoroughly prior to applying new adhesive onto scalp.

Ghost Bond Touch Up Adhesive

This bond is useful for bonding lace and skin systems to the scalp. After scalp is cleaned thoroughly, apply two thin coats to area needed bonding and ensure bond is dry prior to attaching lace or skin systems. You can use a blow-dryer on a cool setting to help dry each layer of the adhesive prior to attachment. Use a small popsicle stick to apply and spread adhesive and remember “a little adhesive goes a long way”. Don’t over apply and make sure you use thin layers.

Tips for Attachment:

  • Don’t use any removal product on either the lace of skin based system. Once the system is lifted from the scalp, use your finger to “roll” the adhesive from the system. Be patient and all the adhesive should roll off after a few minutes.
  • Once scalp and system is cleaned and ready for attachment, lay the system back down. I like to use the popsicle stick to mark where the adhesive will go on the hairline by making a small indentation on the scalp by pressing it with the popsicle stick. When you lift the system you will see where you need to apply the adhesive.
  • If you are not comfortable with the adhesive, you could always use tape as a temporary attachment.
  • Use a clip to hold the hair system back when applying adhesive so it doesn’t fall forward while you are applying the adhesive.
  • Once adhesive is dry, you can slowly re-attach the hair system using two hands holding each side of the system and attach to the scalp. Once the system is attached, use a vent brush and brush your hair, this will help attach system to the adhesive.
  • If any spots are missed, use a very small amount of adhesive to “touch up” and use the brush again to attach.
